Tribe, as the weather cools down, we all start looking for Dubai’s outdoor activities. What if I tell you that you can have a fun-filled adventure in the desert Ghaf forest in Dubai, just a few minutes drive away? When you visit Aventura park, you are so close to the city, and yet you feel very far from the city’s hustle-bustle and you can connect with Nature!
When we arrived at Aventura Park late afternoon, we were first taken to PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) station where their staff fastens a harness on you. Then we were given a short lesson on how to use different hooks & carabiners attached to our harness. Once you are done with these essential formalities, you are ready to take the surrounding Ghaf tree forest.
The best part is this park can offer adventure to any age group, there are different loops or circuits for different levels like easy, moderate & some hard ones. If you love spending time outdoors, love taking challenges, or want to test your limits, this is the place for you! Aventura circuits and obstacle course is can be a great family day out but is also great for energetic youngsters or office colleagues or even for a date-night or girls day out as long as you like to have a fun-filled adventure.
Our little adventurer started quickly conquering the dedicated kid’s circuit Rangers, perfect for children above 1.15m and older than six. I was surprised how quickly he managed to understand the technique of using the rope, lanyard & other equipment. The friendly staff of Aventura Park is always there to guide and assist you. Very appropriately you see them more in number near kids loops. Seeing how much Ruhaan was enjoying the circuit, we decided to go on a little adventure date on another circuit.
Once you get a hang of the technique, it’s so much fun to let your inner child go wild. The zip lines, rope climbing, tree walks on moving ropes surrounded by lush green Ghaf forest, and natives plants all of this you need to experience at least once.
Since we entered the park I set my eyes on the big spider web of ropes, so after the easier circuits, I decided to go on more challenging rope climbing. It felt so challenging before I started climbing but the more you advance in the circuit, you loosen up and want to try more challenges. The climbing on spider web was a great experience and as I advanced in this circuit the adrenaline started kicking in. throughout the Aventura experience, you are constantly connected to some support via hooks on your harness, so you are doing all safe adventures. But the feeling of accomplishment you get after finishing the circuit, overcoming any fear, and setting your mind free is unparalleled.
I and my son are natural adventure-seekers, so no doubt we loved Aventura Park. I felt like this is our playground, where we could come again and again with family, friends to enjoy the dose of adventure, thrills, and accomplishment every now and then. On my wishlist for a return trip are the 25 meters Tarzan jump and night experience of trying these circuits after dark.

Sustainability Features of Aventura Park
Another reason to love Aventura Park is not just the outdoor adventure experience but also their commitment to making the park more sustainable. Aventura Park is located inside Dubai Municipality’s Mushrif Park, amidst a 35,000-square meter natural Ghaf forest.
There is a small vegetable garden next to Chris Cafe, where the fresh ingredients are grown and picked to use in the kitchen of the cafe.
Aventura Park is located inside Mushrif Park, which is a park dedicated to native landscape, so you get to see all native and adaptive plant species like Ghaf trees in Aventura Park. The plants are irrigated with water-efficient drip irrigation. Another lovely feature is Nature Trail, where you can explore native flora, fauna, and wildlife. The is a burrow of hedgehogs on the nature trail, but you also get to see a desert hare, foxes, birds, spiders, and butterflies. The lights have motion sensors so that helps in saving energy as well.
